Getting positive results with (Cambridge) Hypnotherapy

Little steps to a full life of achievement We’ve noticed lately that so many people when trying to either reach a goal or make changes in their life, with the best of intentions, go about it in a way that almost always ends up in failure! What a great shame when we see what we want in life, read about it and dream of having it only to be another “I wish” or even worse “If only I’d persisted a little more” There’s a sure fire way to stop this happening and it’s the same proces

Have you stuck to your new years resolution?

How Hypnotherapy can kick your new resolutions back into action! So we are nearly at the end of January, 31 days into 2014 and I’m keen to find out how many of you that made a new years resolution are still going strong? According to research, 9 days in is the average date that people will give up and return to their old life. In fact, three-quarters of 3,000 British adults surveyed admitted they were no longer confident they would stick to their promises for the rest of the

Helping relationships over Christmas with Cambridge Hypnotherapy

Following on from Luke’s latest Cambridge Hypnotherapy Blog posting about anxiety experienced at Christmas I think it would be good to have a look at why this anxiety comes about in families at this time of year. Now it could just the drink talking and unfortunately this can be a big issue for some. Alcohol flows so much freer at this festive time ~ freer and usually earlier and for longer. It’s a recipe for trouble and usually brings the worst out of everybody. This calls fo

Joseph and I (Paul) have just finished 2 back to back 8 day intensive trainings in both Cambridge & Bournemouth,  teaching NLP, Time Line Therapy™ and Real Hypnosis. For those that don’t know why anyone would want to learn these skills well there’s generally three reasons. 1 For Personal development 2 To thrive in business 3 To become a therapist and help others The fact is, generally our participants get all three in abundance It was great to see everyone pass with flying co

Hypnosis for fear of flying – Cambridge Hypnotherapy for phobias

Recently I read an article in the national newspapers highlighting a story about a young boy of 12 years old who had developed a phobia of flying and now been stranded in the Middle East for more than one year. Eventually, with the aid of Hypnotherapy, he managed to overcome his fear and fly back with his Father to meet up with his Mother and Sister who had already returned to the UK. Fear of flying is one of the more common phobias that we work with here at Cambridge Hypnoth

Stoptober….. or StopForever with Cambridge Hypnotherapy to stop smoking

So once again Stoptober is here, and the government are trying to push helping smokers become a non smoker for 28 days. Although this is obviously a great initiative, I do find it flawed in many aspects! Firstly, why stop for 28 days? Why not stop smoking FOREVER? If people stop smoking for 28 days they are apparently 5 times more likely to stop smoking permanantly. I would counter that with 100% of those who do stop forever, actually have stopped forever? Strange, eh 😉 The

working as a hypnotherapist in cambridge

I’ve now been a Hypnotherapist in Cambridge for over 6 years. My background has always been Sport and Psychology, going all the way back to when I was at College and studied the 2 subjects at A-Level. Luckily, with the P.E syllabus there was a section on Sports Psychology, and also within the Psychology Syllabus there was a section on Sports Psychology. Having left College, I decided to train and become qualified as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer having trained in

Amazing results ~ Hypnotherapy for young adults ~ the real Cambridge Hypnotherapy

Something special happening at Cambridge Hypnotherapy Lately I have been overwhelmed, in a good way, in having the opportunity to work with young people, young adults that is. With that I mean 19 – 21 year olds, wanting to get theirself together and doing something about it. It seems to me that it must take a lot of courage to get in touch with a Hypnotherapist, someone that does an ‘ism ~ Hypnotism and then be prepared to do whatever it takes to be the way they want to be! Child abuse and how it affects victims in the long term – Cambridge Hypnotherapy

Over the past 12 months there have countless cases of child abuse reported by the media focusing on high profile names and famous personalities. These cases go back years and years, which has made us think about how long the victims have been holding on to their traumatic memories for and how their lives would have different if they had dealt with them at the time. At Cambridge Hypnotherapy, we regularly work with clients who have been abused physically, sexually or emotional

What can hypnotherapy & Hypnosis do? Cambridge Hypnotherapy

Can we Cure? The other day a prospective client came to our complimentary initial consultation saying they had been told by their friends to see a hypnotherapist to get cured. Oh I forgot to add the cure was also to be guaranteed. This begs the question “Who do we know who can say they can cure?” Or “Who do you know who can and does guarantee a cure?” Let’s see…. v     A physiotherapist….. No v     A nurse……………No v     Oh! I know a doctor…… No. We have all heard of patients b

Hypnotherapy v Counseling….. which to choose??

Recently I have had a client enquire into the differences between Hypnotherapy and Counseling. In their words they felt they “needed some feminine empathy right now from a female counselor” and it got me thinking about the differences between that and they way that we work. As I am a 32 year old man, I have to hold my hands up and admit that when it comes to being a female counselor, the other therapist has got me beaten hands down there! Also being male, I think she’s pretty

Insomnia is it real ~ Cambridge Hypnotherapy

When people come to see us for help it can be quite hard to understand although the problem they came about almost probably is not the problem. Now that might not make sense at first reading but think about it ~ most of the things we experience and don’t like are the effects of something else. Here’s an example: Not sleeping at night ~ “I just want a good night sleep” but that’s not the problem it’s what’s causing you to not sleep is the underlying problem Recently a client h

Sticking to your resolutions with Cambridge Hypnotherapy

So it’s February, and we’re now 5 weeks into the New Year. How many of you made a New Years Resolution such as stopping smoking, losing weight, finding a new job or even starting a new hobby? More importantly, how many of you stuck to it and are STILL doing it? Over the past few weeks we have seen a rise in enquiries from clients who have fallen by the wayside with their resolutions and reverted back to their old unwanted behaviour and are now realizing that they need a littl

    Yo-Yo Dieting? ~ Cambridge Hyponotherapy’s answer

SO what is it about the Yo-yo effect of dieting? Why do so many people go on a diet and crash only to find they become heavier than they started and more saddened and unmotivated? Why do some people fall off the healthy eating and exercise regime and never get to their weight and shape they dream of and long for? There’s probably one answer to all those at the heart, with a few side issues tagged along. When we set our new weight goal how many know that the new you will be a

Lose weight with Hypnotherapy? Let’s change your mindset about food and watch that happen anyw

2013 is upon us, and no doubt 1000’s of people out there are now starting to plan their new healthy eating diets and joining up with their local gyms in order to lose weight, as this year they’re sure things will be different….. I admire their initial motivation, and their positive approach to weight loss is wonderful to see, but I really do think that these people are approaching losing weight COMPLETELY wrong. The reason I think this is simple….. FOOD is not the problem, TH

Stopping smoking at Christmas with Cambridge Hypnotherapy

Don’t stop smoking for Christmas! Some people think it would be great to stop and quit smoking over the Christmas period. But think about it seriously…. Yes, absolutely stop smoking and stop when you are at your best and can prepare for it properly. You see you smoke for a reason, it’s not addictive, it’s a behaviour you do for a positive reason / intention and if you just go ahead at one of the most stressful times of the year your heading for disappointment. “So what can I

    Stoptober has ended!!!

It’s here… The first of November… which means that Stoptober has officially ended! For those of you that don’t know, Stoptober was a public campaign backed by Cancer Research UK and The British Heart foundation set up to encourage mass quitting of smoking for the 28 days of October. Apparently research showed that those who quit smoking for 28 days are 5 times more likely to stay smoke free. This may well be the case, and for those that did participate in Stoptober I’d love t
