If Richard Can Do It, So Can You
We all know how easy it is to fall into habits that don’t serve us—reaching for the biscuits or crisps without thinking, grabbing 'convenient' food on the go, or convincing ourselves we’ll “start the diet on Monday.” But what if change didn’t have to be a battle of willpower?
Richard recently had his first session of hypnotherapy with myself, Luke Clough at Cambridge Hypnotherapy, and the results have already been nothing short of inspiring. After just ONE sessions, he’s lost 6 lbs, and that's not by following a punishing diet or starving himself, but by naturally making better choices without that usual internal tug-of-war or battle.
What’s even more powerful is how effortless these changes have felt to him. That very afternoon after his first session, he walked into Costa where he’d usually be drawn straight to the cake stands on his way to order. However, this time he walked straight past it without even noticing it. No internal debate. No guilt-ridden glances. It just wasn’t on his radar. That’s the kind of shift that we here at Cambridge Hypnotherapy can bring about.... not just changing behaviour, but changing the mindset to change the behaviour.
He’s also been planning ahead when staying in hotels, something many of us struggle with. Instead of treating travel like a free-for-all he’s been super mindful, choosing foods that support his goals. Again, not from a place of restriction, but because it now feels like the obvious, right thing to do.

The beauty of hypnotherapy is that it doesn’t rely on brute force. You don’t need to grit your teeth and “just say no.” Instead, it works by updating those old patterns and associations that no longer help you. If your subconscious mind sees food as comfort, reward, or boredom relief, hypnotherapy helps rewrite that script. You’re not fighting the urge, you're simply not having the urge in the first place.
And here’s the thing: if Richard can do it, anyone can.
He didn’t come in with superhuman discipline or a secret diet trick. He simply allowed his mind to reconnect with the version of him that’s capable, in control, and aligned with the life he wants to live. He started using all the resources that he already had available to him.
That version of you exists too.
Whether it’s weight loss, stopping smoking, being free of anxiety, letting go of trauma, or any other area where you feel stuck, hypnotherapy can help you get out of your own way. It's not magic (though it might feel that way), it’s about unlocking the part of your mind that already knows what’s best for you.
So if you’re tired of trying and failing, or if you’ve started to believe change just isn’t possible for you, take a leaf out of Richard’s book. Book that FREE initial consultation anb find out for yourself.
When the change comes from within, everything else becomes so much easier.
